Hatfield House & Gardens has been home to the Cecil family for over 400 years. The original building built in 1485, the Old Palace, was the childhood home and favourite residence of Queen Elizabeth I and has links to Henry VIII’s children. Passed, via King James I, to the Cecil’s in 1607, it was mainly demolished. Join the Guided Tour of Hatfield House to see objects associated with Elizabeth, the State Rooms and original Jacobean features. Enjoy time in the gardens.
