We travel to Chesterfield where there is time to explore before our afternoon visit to Bolsover Castle. Set on a hilltop overlooking the Vale of Scarsdale this 17th century castle offers panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. Bolsover Castle was the fantasy hilltop pleasure palace of a horse-mad Cavalier playboy – and even today this Stuart mansion never fails to impress.
